Building a dam is not for the quaint hearted. It takes time, dedication, and a whole lot of wood. Most animals live their lives in a way that does little to influence the ecosystem as a whole. The work of a beaver leaves a legacy behind. A well-built dam will change the course of a river to create an entirely new ecosystem. Beavers spend their lives maintaining and improving their dams. Eventually becoming the crux of an entire community. The wellbeing of many different species relies on the work of these toothy rodents.
